After our return from Santa Maria, we made two separate trips to one of our favorite places, the San Diego Zoo! First, we went Keira's great buddy Kaitlyn's second birthday.
Keira and Kaitlyn were joined by Nicholas and Aidan. Tyler sat this trip out, and instead enjoyed a calm day at Lisa's, where he could nap and eat in peace.
One of the more exciting exhibits this time was watching the hippo move! Usually, the hippos just kind of sit in the water, looking like large rocks. We watched her move from the land to the water, then swim around, and she showed us her pearly whites!
Trying to get a nice picture of these four requires superhuman skill.
We finished out the day with cupcakes and the happy birthday song. Happy birthday, sweet Kaitlyn!
The very next day, we decided to head back to the zoo and meet baby Connor and Dana. We spent more time this trip at the Children's Zoo, where Connor and Keira could play and have fun. Tyler came with us on this trip, and we had a great time petting the animals and playing on the playground.
Keira even grabbed a brush and did a great job brushing a zoo goat!
Tyler was a most excellent spectator, and Keira loved climbing on the bronze sculptures! :)
