Keira, Tyler, and I decided to stay in Santa Maria for a few days following Nicole's shower. We had a great time running around and enjoying the central coast. Despite all the running around, Tyler found the time to flip from his back to his belly for the first time, right on his 4 month birthday! Look at this cutie, so proud of himself!
Keira was SO excited to discover the giant box of Barbies at Grandma Spry's house. Between my sisters and I, we have quite the collection. Keira convinced Grandma to do quite a bit of Barbie playing during our stay. The play pretty much entailed retelling her favorite princess movies (Cinderella losing her slipper and Sleeping Beauty), and Grandma's "prince" chasing down Keira's "princess". As you can see from the delighted look on Keira's face, she had a great time playing Barbies. I see many more Barbie playtimes in Keira's future.
On Monday, we decided to take the kids down to one of my favorite places on the Central Coast, Avila Barns. Several of the animals had just had babies, and we were so excited to check them all out! Keira jumped right in and loved studying all of the animals! We found CUTE baby chicks and duckings- they made me want to hatch them in my classroom again!

She jumped right in and fed all of the animals, including goats, donkeys, sheep, roosters, and the emu. She definitely loved the animalsThe cutest part, for me, was looking at the babies! We found these adorable baby piglets-
And these sweet calves. They were so young, we couldn't feed them, they were on a milk only diet!
My two favorite monkeys-
Tyler spent a lot of time hanging out in the stroller, checking out the animals, charming everyone, and taking a little snooze.
We also found some time to take a few spring pictures of these cuties.
After looking through the farmers market, we hopped on the hay ride...
and enjoyed our favorite thing, ice cream! Keira really, really enjoyed her ice cream. She was an absolute mess!!
On the way back to Grandma's we stopped by the Butterfly Grove in Pismo Beach, hoping to see a few late season butterflies. We glimpsed a few, but most of the butterflies had already moved south- we're hoping to see some in our Butterfly Weed plant in our front yard!
After such a busy extended weekend, Keira "I'm not tired" Arce had a hard time being convinced to take a nap. All it took was a few Bernstein Bears books read by Grandma, and this little girl was OUT! Another wonderful trip to Grandma's, we'll be home again soon!
