I was so excited for summertime! We had a fun summer together, my breaks are definitely one of my favorite things about teaching. We started out with swimming lessons with a friend of mine from work, Ms. Barbie. Keira loved swimming with Ms. Barbie, and especially playing her friend with Lulu, who was taking the lessons with her. I was so glad we decided to have Keira take lessons with Barbie, she learned more in two lessons with Barbie than she did in a two weeks of lessons at our local rec center.
We also took a family trip to Boomers for some golf and rides. I think Keira needs a little work on her swing.
We had to find time for several zoo trips! We always have a great time at the zoo, and we managed to get a picture of all the kiddos, even though we couldn't get them all looking. :)
We also met Kaitlyn and Aidan at the library for a little Hullabaloo singing and dancing!
I also got us a year pass to the Ruben H. Fleet Science Center, and we have loved going to their kid zone and playing with all of the science tools.
Best of all, we had a lot of play time at home. Keira and Tyler are becoming play partners, which Keira both loves and hates. She loves to play with her brother on her terms, and is learning how to play with him when he wants to play. Generally, she is an amazing big sister: patient, gentle, and (usually) willing to share.
On hot days, we had fun with our new water guns, slip and slide, and sprinklers. We decided to forgo the inflatable pool this summer, and I can't say we really missed it. The sprinklers and slip and slide definitely cooled us down and provided hours of entertainment.
We made a trip up to Santa Maria for Aunt Nicole & Uncle Phillip's stateside celebration. We didn't get many pictures, but Keira had a great time with the big girls, and Tyler didn't get set down the entire party. Fun!
