We made our first camping trip of the year a few weekends ago at South Carlsbad State Beach. Unfortunately, June gloom was out in all it's glory, but Keira didn't let it stop her! She LOVED camping, playing in the dirt, throwing the dirt, rolling in the dirt... yes, the dirt was definitely her favorite part.
We went and splashed in the water for awhile, but it was too cold, and we decided to head back into the shore and build sandcastles.
It was so chilly, we decided to forget the beach and headed out to check out all that Carlsbad had to offer. We found a pick it yourself Strawberry Field, and decided to pull off and pick some strawberries! Keira had a great time running through the fields, although she didn't care for the strawberries.
We also found time to eat barbeque, yummy! She did not care for the corn I had cut off the cob for her, instead, she demanded to hold the cob herself. She ate it like a pro, and even gave a "mmmmm" when she was done!
