Keira started her first day of preschool on August 23. She is attending St. Therese Academy in our neighborhood, and she absolutely loves it. She started earlier in the summer, attending their summer school program, and I was so glad we did it on the first day for everyone. Many of the kids were having a hard time with their parents leaving, but Keira was so comfortable, I just hung back for a few minutes, she started playing, then looked at me and said, "you can go now, Mommy." I was so proud of her for being so brave, but a little sad that she is getting so big!
Soon after Keira's first day of preschool, it was time for Tyler's Baptism. He looked so handsome in his baptismal outfit, a gift from his Godmother, Auntie Nicole. His Godparents are Auntie Nicole and Uncle John. He was a little older for his baptism than Keira was, and he was MUCH more difficult than she was for the ceremony. He kept wiggling around, and really wanted to be set down so he could check the place out. My arms were tired from wrestling from him! Finally, in the middle of the baptism, I set him down and let him walk around a bit.
We had a small barbeque at our house following the baptism, and Santino came out to celebrate. These sweet boys are only about 6 weeks apart, and I think they look like brothers!
Finally, soccer season started for Keira. She is playing on a 3-5 year old team, and they are the Dolphins. She loves going to practice- everyone gets a ball and they all get to score goals. She is not quite as crazy about games- she doesn't want anyone else to get the ball. She definitely has to work on her teamwork. :) She gets the ball and quickly begins dribbling down the field. If someone tries to take the ball from her, she'll kick it and just keep running, usually past the goal and about 20 yards into the sidelines. She is having a great time and loves playing with her new friends.
Same team, Keira, SAME TEAM!! :)
