Bay Vacation!

We started our summer vacation by taking a trip up to the Bay Area to visit Keira's aunties and uncles.  We had a great time a packed a lot into 3 days!  Auntie Nicole and Uncle Phillip started things out right by having a barbeque one night and making waffles the next morning!  Needless to say, the waffles (and maple syrup) were a big hit with Keira.
Auntie Nicole, Uncle Phillip, and Keira had an impromptu dance party in the dining room- here's Keira, mid-jump.
After waffles, we walked to the local park, and we took their adopted doggie Buddy and Aiden for a walk to the local park and Rockridge farmers market.  Keira LOVED walking Buddy.  She's such a big girl!
We had a blast at the park!  It had slides and toys, and Keira had so much fun pushing the trucks around and taking rides in the push car, complete with a horn that beeps.
On the way home, Uncle Phil had an assist on Keira's first dunk- WNBA, here she comes!
That afternoon we took a trip out to Fairyland, and Keira was in heaven.  Apparently, Fairyland was the inspiration for Disneyland 58 years ago- and nothing much seems to have changed in 58 years.  Most of the rides were for big kids, and grown ups weren't allowed on the merry-go-round, so we spent most of the afternoon wandering around watching Keira go play inside the never ending nursery rhyme play houses.  I don't think it was Daddy and Uncle Phillip's most exciting day ever, but Keira was loving every minute.

The next day, we took a trip to Berkeley to visit Habitot, a children's museum.  It was awesome!  It is a children's museum tailored to children from 0-5 years, and Keira had a blast.  Keira could have stayed all day.  They had painting, pretend play, water play, face paints... it just went on and on.  We'll definitely be making another trip on our next visit to Auntie Nicole.
We finished our trip with a fun pool day with Aunt Ronni, Aunt Andee, Bradley, Sonya, Christina, and Justin.  Keira loved the pool and didn't want to get out!  She was working on jumping and dunking her head in the water.  Unfortunately, the weather was unseasonably cold in Walnut Creek, and she had to get out!  She protested- but her lips were turning blue, and mommies have to draw a line somewhere.  :)
